Two of your services share the same room. You assigned different stylists to each, but Reservio still lets both be booked at the same time — leaving you with two clients arriving for the same room. This guide shows you how to fix it.
Quick note before we start: Reservio doesn't yet have a separate "rooms" feature, so the trick is to treat the room as a fake staff member. The system will then reserve the room like a person — but your clients won't see it.
The setup — walk through one example
Let's use a real example: Anna and Pavel both do massages in your Massage Room. Currently both can be booked for the same time, even though only one massage table exists. Here's how to fix that.
1. Hide the staff section from your booking page
Go to Online bookings > Design and hide the Staff section. Save.
Your clients will now book by service and time only — they won't pick a stylist, and they won't see any "Massage Room" employee that we're about to create.
2. Create a fake staff member for the room
Go to Settings > Staff and add a new staff member. Call it something simple like Massage Room or Room 1. Save.
3. Reassign your services to the room
Go to Settings > Services and edit each service that uses the Massage Room (e.g. Swedish massage, Deep tissue massage). For each one, set the staff to Massage Room only — remove Anna and Pavel.
That's it. Now whenever any massage is booked, the Massage Room is reserved, and no second booking can land on the same slot.
"But I want clients to choose a stylist"
Because services are now tied to the room instead of a person, the booking won't show whether Anna or Pavel performed it. If you want clients to choose:
Create a separate service per stylist — "Massage with Anna" and "Massage with Pavel" — and assign both services to the same Massage Room. Clients pick the stylist via the service name, and the room is still reserved correctly.
What if my setup is different?
Multiple rooms — Create one fake staff member per room (Room 1, Room 2…) and assign each service to the room it uses.
Shared device, not a whole room — Same approach, just name the fake staff after the device (e.g. Laser machine 1) and assign every service that uses it.
Some staff move between rooms, others don't — Test with one service first. The principle is the same: fake staff per room, services assigned to the rooms they actually use.
