How to add buffer time to a service

Need extra time before or after appointments? Now you can set up Buffer time for each service! This feature allows you to schedule additional time before an appointment to prepare and after the appointment for cleaning, resetting the space, or any other necessary tasks. This ensures a smooth transition between clients and a well-organized schedule.

Creating a new service

When setting up a new service, you can define Buffer time for both Before and After the appointment. This allows you to allocate the necessary time for preparation or cleanup.

How to configure buffer time:

  1. In the service creation navigate to Schedule settings.

  2. Next to Duration choose Set buffer time.

  3. Specify the desired intervals for Before and After.

Key points to keep in mind:

  • Buffer times can exceed your opening hours.

  • Customers do not see the buffer time – they are only booked for the duration of the service itself.

  • In the Calendar, the booked time slot includes both the service duration and the buffer time.

  • If a red exclamation mark appears next to the appointment time, it indicates that the booking slot overlaps with another appointment.

Editing an existing service

If you add buffer time to an existing service, the change will only apply to new bookings moving forward. Existing bookings will remain unchanged and without buffer time.

To add buffer time to an existing service, select the service you want to modify and click Edit to update the settings.

Where to find this setting in the Reservio Business app

You can also configure buffer time in the Reservio Business app. Just go to the Menu, select Services, choose the service you want to modify, and find the Set buffer time option.
