In the first steps of activating the POS system, you need to set up how and when you want to receive payments from your customers. You can easily reconfigure these settings if you decide to change your mind.
Open the Sales tab — Payment options. The page is divided into two parts.
Payment preferences
Choose when you want to receive payment for a booking:
Require payment upfront – charge the full amount when the booking is created. This helps prevent no-shows.
Payment upfront not required – payments can be collected online when the booking is created, or in person after the service is provided.
Require deposit upfront – charge a percentage of the amount when the booking is created and the rest later. This option is coming soon.
The Require payment upfront setting doesn’t apply to bookings from the Reservio Marketplace, as payments aren’t supported there.
Payment methods
Select the payment methods you want to offer your customers. You can turn each of them on or off separately:
Online payments – your customers can pay online when creating a booking.
On-site payments – accept card payments on site with a terminal or tap to pay. This option is coming soon.
Cash – your customers can pay for services and products in cash at your location.
Other – accept alternative payment methods for your in-person payments and track these transactions with detailed notes in the system.
If you don’t see one of the options in the settings, it may not be available in your country (for example, online payments).
TIP: If you’ve changed your business name or billing address, check out this guide on how to edit your company details.
